Christmas 2020 may look a little different this year, but Christmas Stocking Stuffers will always bring joy and delight to children and adults alike. Some stocking stuffers are whimsical, some are tasty, and some are practical. Candy, toothbrushes, gas gift cards, pens, and other small items always grace my children's Christmas Stockings, but I never know what to get my spouse or parents.
Since they all wear eye glasses, I thought I'd add some thoughtful and useful items to help them solve some everyday issues this year.
Pocket Keychain 2-in-1 Screwdriver: I'm always adjusting and tightening the screws on my glasses. Trust this pocket screwdriver with reversible straight edge and Phillips screwdriver to get the job done.
Hilco Lens Cleaner: Anyone who wears glasses knows how often they need to be cleaned. This brand works exceptionally well to eliminate streaks and grime on your lenses. Keep this handy cleaning solution and cloth with you at all times. Comes with a plastic case.
Press on Bifocals: Tired of switching between your daily glasses and your readers? Have a sweet pair of sunglasses, but can’t read the menu at that cozy beach café? Hydro-Tac Stick On Magnifiers turn your everyday glasses or sunglasses into bifocals at a fraction of the cost of true bifocals.
Blue Light Readers: This is a great item even for people who don't normally wear glasses. With everyone on their computer more often with distance learning and Zoom meetings, blue light readers are essential. These will protect your eyes from your screen's damaging blue light which can cause eye strain and fatigue, and even trigger migraines in some people. Although they are called “readers” they are also available with zero power for kids or those that don’t need reading correction. Sometimes just adding a slight power (+0.50) helps the eyes relax when staring at a screen for more than an hour at a time. Available in multiple colors and prescription strengths.
Thinoptics: Amazingly super thin reading glasses the size of a credit card. Two handy versions are available. One sticks to the back of your cell phone and the other one hangs on a keychain. Great for occasional reading of your phone, menus, maps, etc.
Clip-ons and Fit-overs: Wearing your everyday glasses to the beach or in the car can leave you squinting in the sun all day. Even if your glasses are Transitions (turn darker in the sun), many will not work in the car. There are two easy solutions that don't include buying new prescription sunglasses. Tinted Clip-ons clip to your glasses turning them instantly into prescription sunglasses. They come in different shapes and sizes so chances are you'll find one that fits seamlessly on your glasses. Fit-overs are sunglasses large enough to go over your everyday glasses. Again, there is a large selection of shapes and sizes to fit every need. They are also available with yellow lenses to help cut down on glare from headlights at nighttime.
Clic Readers: Are you constantly putting your reading glasses on your head or taking them off and forgetting where you put them? Clic Reader glasses stay around your neck when you don't need them. The adjustable neck band and magnetic hitch let you easily use them without losing them – great for coaches, teachers, or anyone who needs to read for frequent, short bursts of time.
