Scuba, dive and snorkeling masks available with custom-made prescription lenses, pre-made lenses, or prescription inserts. For information on how to select the proper dive or snorkel mask, see our Scuba Mask Buying gude.
There are 4 ways to do prescriptions in a dive mask.
Full lens is prescription (denoted on our site by RX6 symbol). This is the most popular but does have prescription limitations.
Rx Adapter (piece that carries the prescription and sits inside the mask—denoted as RXADT) Cheapest option and can do almost any prescription
Pre-made lenses (denoted as RXSTEP). These are lenses close to the prescription not exact. This is good if you don’t have much astigmatism (less than 1.00 on cylinder column). If you have over a 1.00 cylinder, you’ll want to go a custom made option.
Glue in lenses—lenses glued inside the mask to the mask lenses. (called glue in lenses) Most expensive option. Mostly used for people who want to keep their existing mask.
