About the Company:

Shannen Knight is the owner of A Sight for Sport Eyes, and the author of this page. She has a degree in Marketing from USC, and is a board certified dispensing optician. She has worked in the optical industry for over 25 years, and saw this as a growing niche in the industry. She is an aspiring business woman, and has been published in several trade journals as an expert in the field of sports eyewear and sunglasses.

A Sight for Sport Eyes has been in operation since September 1996. It was founded to educate the consumer about the growing risk of eye injuries and the permanence of their damage. Sports eyewear is specialty niche the optical market, as more and more people are taking the necessary precautions to protect their eyes. Shannen has always loved and participated in many sports, and saw this a perfect opportunity to help the public learn more about these products.

A Sight for Sport Eyes runs like a regular optical practice, not an e-commerce store.  Our goal is to give you the same high quality service and name brand lenses made by the best optical laboratories in the country. We don't cut corners in order to give competitive prices.  We give you the same optical quality lenses you would get at a local optical shop.  But because most optical shops don't offer much knowledge or selection of sports specific eyewear, we exist to cater to this market only.  Many eye doctors refer their patients to us because they know they can trust we'll deliver the same quality product they would but with our expertise in regards to lens and frame options that work best for your active lifestyle.
