The Exception™ offers a vast array of features all packed into a stylish cutting-edge design. The Exception™ is truly a design masterpiece that has incorporated all of Rudy Project's major technologies in one model - including the option to add Rx-ability using our patented optical inserts. RP Optics polycarbonate lenses can be put directly into the frame or ingeniously added to our flip-up mechanism that attaches to the frame - offering two vastly different functionalities and appearances. The Exception™ incorporates Quick Change™ interchangeable lens technology, adjustable Ergonose™ nose pads (to eliminate fogging) and adjustable Kynetium™ temples equipped with our T-Lock™ system for a customized, total comfort fit every time. Advanced lightweight Grilamid™ TR 90 frame material and geometric wrap technology means you won't even know you have them on! Adjustable nose pads and temples. Great for high prescriptions and contact lens wearers who want to change back and forth between sunglasses over contacts and prescription sunglasses.

Rudy Project Prescription Information
Prices shown for all options are for single vision (SV) prescription lenses only. Progressive lenses are available in store only or see our prescription information page for other options for obtaining progressive lenses.
RX insert. Maximum prescription range -10.00 to +8.00 total power (sphere plus cylinder). This is a piece that carries the prescription and snaps in behind the non-prescription Rudy Project lenses. This allows you to change out the front lens for various light conditions while only purchasing one pair of prescription lenses. This is the most economical way to go and is a good option for contact lens wearers who only need to occasionally insert the prescription adapter. Two sizes of adapter. Standard adapter comes with the frame (Eyesize: A: 50, B: 29) LX Adapter is for prescriptions above 6.00. (Eyesize: A: 47 B: 32)
Sizing Information:
If you look at the description on most product descriptions, we have the "eyesize" measurements. Glasses are not measured in sizes like clothes or shoes. Frames can fit differently on each person's nose or ears. The best option is to try for fit. But you can use the "eyesize" to give you an idea of size. You can double the "A" measurement, add the DBL (nose bridge) and get an approximation of width. However, if the glasses are wrap around, the "eyesize" will be bigger since it wraps around the sides. Thus, comparing the eyesize of your regular glasses doesn't always work. If you are unsure about size, you can also contact us for a recommendation. What is a "PD"
PD (pupil distance) tells us how to center the "sweet spot" of the prescription right in front of your pupil for the best vision. If this is not on your prescription, you can contact wherever you made glasses (not necessarily your eye doctor) to get this information. Or see below on how to measure yourself.
What is "Add"
Add is your reading prescription power. If you wear bifocals or progressives, you will need this. If you don't wear bifcoals or progressives (typically people over 40) then you can skip this.
