Rudy Project Prescription Information
Prices shown for all options are for single vision (SV) prescription lenses only. Progressive lenses are available in store only or see our prescription information page for other options for obtaining progressive lenses.
"Direct In" is where the prescription is made just like the non-prescription lens, direct into the frame. Direct in lenses feature Rudy Project's revolutionary ImpactRX™ program with Eyepoint freeform technology giving a wider field of vision and virtually eliminating distortion issues associated with wrap lenses. See Rudy Project technology page for more details. Est. Processing time: 2-3 weeks.
To interchange lenses, you need a "gasket" that surrounds the lenses. That part will snap in and out so the lens stays fixed in the "gasket". To purchase multiple lens colors, you need to also purchase a replacement lens (non-prescription) option so that we have the part to build the prescription lenses.
Direct In Prescription Limitations based on PD (Pupil distance) and are estimates. When trying to fabricate there may be additional limitations. Sphere power listed. Maximum cylinder power is 2.00.
- PD=58 to 61: -4.25 to +3.00
- PD=62 to 66: -4.50 to +3.25
- PD= 67+: -5.00 to +3.75
Prescription lenses can also be made with ASFSE lab at a lower cost. See prescription information page.
Sizing Information:
If you look at the description on most product descriptions, we have the "eyesize" measurements. Glasses are not measured in sizes like clothes or shoes. Frames can fit differently on each person's nose or ears. The best option is to try for fit. But you can use the "eyesize" to give you an idea of size. You can double the "A" measurement, add the DBL (nose bridge) and get an approximation of width. However, if the glasses are wrap around, the "eyesize" will be bigger since it wraps around the sides. Thus, comparing the eyesize of your regular glasses doesn't always work. If you are unsure about size, you can also contact us for a recommendation. For more information on how eyesize works, check out our eyesize video.
What is a "PD"
PD (pupil distance) tells us how to center the "sweet spot" of the prescription right in front of your pupil for the best vision. If this is not on your prescription, you can contact wherever you made glasses (not necessarily your eye doctor) to get this information. Or see below on how to measure yourself.
What is "Add"
Add is your reading prescription power. If you wear bifocals or progressives, you will need this. If you don't wear bifcoals or progressives (typically people over 40) then you can skip this.
