Bolle Prescription Information
Prescription available both "Direct In" without optical clip or with "Adapter" (Rx clip in). Prices quoted for single vision (distance) prescriptions only. Bifocals and progressives available by special order only. See "More Help" tab for information on multi-focal lenses.
Prescription adapter carries prescription lenses and snaps inside goggles. This allows you to interchange the front lenses for various lighting conditions and activities while only purchasing one pair of prescription lenses. Also allows for higher prescription capabilities without wrap around distortion. Prescription prices shown are for lenses up to 6.00 diopters with up to 2.00 cylinder. Higher prescription subject to a power charge. For additional prescription lens information and options, visit prescription information page. Estimated processing time: 5 to 7 working days.
Direct in lenses have the prescription integrated into the shield lens. This is lighter weight and offers a wider field of view. Lenses will be made with the Bolle Authentic B-Thin design. B-Thin utilizes software that can make the most advanced calculations to create a more customized lens and the ultimate in lightweight optics (Freeform Digital technology is part of this lens). An axial compensation of the prescription takes into account the size of the frame and the wearer's facial anatomy if necessary. This ensures optimum precision, comfort and frame balance for sports glasses. Available in 99% of prescriptions. B-Thin lenses are up to 72% thinner and 45% lighter than other lens technology. Available prescriptions +6.00 to -6.00 total power (sphere plus cylinder) with maximum of 4.00 cylinder power. Estimated processing time: 2 weeks.
Sizing Information:
If you look at the description on most product descriptions, we have the "eyesize" measurements. Glasses are not measured in sizes like clothes or shoes. Frames can fit differently on each person's nose or ears. The best option is to try for fit. But you can use the "eyesize" to give you an idea of size. You can double the "A" measurement, add the DBL (nose bridge) and get an approximation of width. However, if the glasses are wrap around, the "eyesize" will be bigger since it wraps around the sides. Thus, comparing the eyesize of your regular glasses doesn't always work. If you are unsure about size, you can also contact us for a recommendation. For more information on how eyesize works, check out our eyesize video.
What is a "PD"
PD (pupil distance) tells us how to center the "sweet spot" of the prescription right in front of your pupil for the best vision. If this is not on your prescription, you can contact wherever you made glasses (not necessarily your eye doctor) to get this information. Or see below on how to measure yourself.
What is "Add"
Add is your reading prescription power. If you wear bifocals or progressives, you will need this. If you don't wear bifcoals or progressives (typically people over 40) then you can skip this.
