Cressi A1 Scuba Mask Information

Following Cressi’s patented Stop-Fog system the Naxos is the last entry-level with this innovative feature. It is compact and smaller in size than a classic diving mask, but this unique feature does not reduce the field of vision, and thanks to new internal ribs, it adapts perfectly to any anatomy of the face. Naxos, like Quantum, not only offers increased downward vision but also avoids the phenomenon of fogging by thermoregulating the warm, moist air escaping from the nose inside the mask. This is channeled by a system of membranes in the mold around the eyes and nose, which deflect the flow toward the rubber walls and not toward the glass. On the outside of the walls is a cooling system consisting of two small heat exchangers that function like radiators. The effect is that the temperature inside the mask is lowered, bringing it closer to the outside temperature, and moisture droplets are trapped before the air reaches the glasses, thus preventing them from fogging up. The lenses are not chemically treated, so it should be remembered that when the mask is new, as is recommended for all masks, it is best to clean the lenses thoroughly with toothpaste, dishwashing detergent or simply use a lighter to burn off all volatiles and impurities deposited on the glass.
- Single-lens made of tempered glass lens having a special protection that makes it completely anti-fog.
- Skirt and the strap made of soft silicone ensuring a high-adaptation fitting most of the different face shapes.
- The top of the internal skirt features a double edge that increases drastically the sealing.
- The drain skirt design improves water expulsion during mask clearance and minimizes water pooling.
- Soft nose pocket for ease of equalization.
- The buckles allow an immediate adjustment of the strap length with one hand, even while wearing gloves.
- Yellow lens increases the contrast, making the objects more visible, and increases the vibrancy of the colors underwater.
Cressi Prescription Lens Options
For custom prescription lenses, we use a generic prescription insert that suction cup inside. Prescription lenses are an add on. Most popular prescription lenses listed. Prescription lens prices quoted are for a pair of lenses with prescriptions up to 6.00 diopters cylinder, up to 2.00 diopter cylinder. Higher prescriptions will incur additional power charges. For other lens options such as high index lenses (recommended on powers over 8.00 as thick lenses may push against facial bones), and more, see prescription information page. No prescription limitations. Estimated time frame for prescription: 5 to 7 working days. Anti-fog coating includes heavy duty scratch coating and is recommended on this product. Fog coatings will add 3-5 days to processing time.
Sizing Information:
If you look at the description on most product descriptions, we have the "eyesize" measurements. Glasses are not measured in sizes like clothes or shoes. Frames can fit differently on each person's nose or ears. The best option is to try for fit. But you can use the "eyesize" to give you an idea of size. You can double the "A" measurement, add the DBL (nose bridge) and get an approximation of width. However, if the glasses are wrap around, the "eyesize" will be bigger since it wraps around the sides. Thus, comparing the eyesize of your regular glasses doesn't always work. If you are unsure about size, you can also contact us for a recommendation. For more information on how eyesize works, check out our eyesize video.
What is a "PD"
PD (pupil distance) tells us how to center the "sweet spot" of the prescription right in front of your pupil for the best vision. If this is not on your prescription, you can contact wherever you made glasses (not necessarily your eye doctor) to get this information. Or see below on how to measure yourself.
What is "Add"
Add is your reading prescription power. If you wear bifocals or progressives, you will need this. If you don't wear bifcoals or progressives (typically people over 40) then you can skip this.
