Prescription Information
Authentic Wiley-X Prescription lenses available. Prescription range +4.00 to -7.00 total power (sphere plus cylinder). Minimum PD of 54. ANSI rated frames so only polycarbonate lenses can be made into these frames. Additional coatings and tints can be added on prescription information page. Prescriptions can be made with Standard manufacturing (ASFSE lab) or in HD Digital technology (Wiley-X lab). New Wiley-X Digiforce digital RX lenses have been specially designed for Wiley-X high wrap frames. Point by point digital lens mapping delivers enhanced visual clarity and color contrast. Digiforce ensures a wider field of vision and more significant reading zone for high curve frames. This Wiley-X design can be optimized or customized to the wearer's prescription and face form. Free form lenses must be used in lens options marked with a * including Captivate and certain photochromic lens options. If you don't pick free form, we will contact you that we need to upgrade in order to proceed with the order. Estimated fabrication time: 2-3 weeks.
Sizing Information:
If you look at the description on most product descriptions, we have the "eyesize" measurements. Glasses are not measured in sizes like clothes or shoes. Frames can fit differently on each person's nose or ears. The best option is to try for fit. But you can use the "eyesize" to give you an idea of size. You can double the "A" measurement, add the DBL (nose bridge) and get an approximation of width. However, if the glasses are wrap around, the "eyesize" will be bigger since it wraps around the sides. Thus, comparing the eyesize of your regular glasses doesn't always work. If you are unsure about size, you can also contact us for a recommendation. For more information on how eyesize works, check out our eyesize video.
What is a "PD"
PD (pupil distance) tells us how to center the "sweet spot" of the prescription right in front of your pupil for the best vision. If this is not on your prescription, you can contact wherever you made glasses (not necessarily your eye doctor) to get this information. Or see below on how to measure yourself.
What is "Add"
Add is your reading prescription power. If you wear bifocals or progressives, you will need this. If you don't wear bifcoals or progressives (typically people over 40) then you can skip this.
