Prescription Information
Most popular prescription lenses listed. Prescription lens prices quoted are for a pair of lenses with prescriptions up to 6.00 diopters cylinder, up to 2.00 diopter cylinder. Higher prescriptions will incur additional power charges. For other lens options such as specialty photochromic lenses, and more, see prescription information page. No prescription limitations. Estimated time frame for prescription: 7 to 10 working days. Note: Only polycarbonate or Trivex lenses can be inserted into these frames to meet the ANSI safety standard. Any coatings will add 3-5 days to timeline.
Sizing Information:
If you look at the description on most product descriptions, we have the "eyesize" measurements. Glasses are not measured in sizes like clothes or shoes. Frames can fit differently on each person's nose or ears. The best option is to try for fit. But you can use the "eyesize" to give you an idea of size. You can double the "A" measurement, add the DBL (nose bridge) and get an approximation of width. However, if the glasses are wrap around, the "eyesize" will be bigger since it wraps around the sides. Thus, comparing the eyesize of your regular glasses doesn't always work. If you are unsure about size, you can also contact us for a recommendation. For more information on how eyesize works, check out our eyesize video.
What is a "PD"
PD (pupil distance) tells us how to center the "sweet spot" of the prescription right in front of your pupil for the best vision. If this is not on your prescription, you can contact wherever you made glasses (not necessarily your eye doctor) to get this information. Or see below on how to measure yourself.
What is "Add"
Add is your reading prescription power. If you wear bifocals or progressives, you will need this. If you don't wear bifcoals or progressives (typically people over 40) then you can skip this.
