Serengeti Prescription Information
Authentic Serengeti prescription lenses using Serengeti's Sun Rx program. Lenses are available in two lens materials. Glass and Vario Drive (NXT). Serengeti Glass lenses represent the ideal balance of technology and craftsmanship. Exceptional optical quality. Polarized , anti-glare option available. Traditional lens surfacing (not digital). The Vario Drive (NXT) lens material offers the ultimate in lightweight lens technology. Built with NXT technology and Trivex material, Vario Drive lenses combine a Polarized filter and Photochromic technology to offer unsurpassed visual acuity in a customized lens. They're also up to 72% thinner and 45% lighter than traditional glass prescription lenses. Every product is customized using digital technology to the wearers prescription and frame. Prescription range varies from +6.00 to -6.00 total power (sphere plus cylinder) with a maximum of 4.00 cylinder. (+2.50 to -6.00 in Glass). Feasiblity depends on PD. Sizing Information:
If you look at the description on most product descriptions, we have the "eyesize" measurements. Glasses are not measured in sizes like clothes or shoes. Frames can fit differently on each person's nose or ears. The best option is to try for fit. But you can use the "eyesize" to give you an idea of size. You can double the "A" measurement, add the DBL (nose bridge) and get an approximation of width. However, if the glasses are wrap around, the "eyesize" will be bigger since it wraps around the sides. Thus, comparing the eyesize of your regular glasses doesn't always work. If you are unsure about size, you can also contact us for a recommendation. What is a "PD"
PD (pupil distance) tells us how to center the "sweet spot" of the prescription right in front of your pupil for the best vision. If this is not on your prescription, you can contact wherever you made glasses (not necessarily your eye doctor) to get this information. Or see below on how to measure yourself.
What is "Add"
Add is your reading prescription power. If you wear bifocals or progressives, you will need this. If you don't wear bifcoals or progressives (typically people over 40) then you can skip this.
